Exercice 1. Conjuguez les verbes entre parenthèses aux types de Conditionnels demandés.
Conditionnel Zéro

Conditionnel Zéro
1. Crickets jump if anyone approaches them.
2. If more people become educated, it is proven that racism and violence recede.
3. Water allows a plant to grow if it also gets enough sunlight.
4. If the suspect confesses, investigators detain him immediately.
5. Most people fight or flee if they feel threatened.
Explications : pour le Conditionnel Zéro, il est nécessaire de conjuguer les verbes de la proposition conditionnelle ainsi que la principale au Présent Simple.
Premier Conditionnel (Type I)
1. If I am selected for a casting, I will do my best to impress the movie director.
2. They will need assistance if they change their software.
3. If you notice anything strange, you will need to report it to the supervisor.
4. The world’s population will increase if economic development accelerates.
5. If your parents decide to move to a different city, you will meet different people.
Explication : le Premier Conditionnel (Type I) requiert l’utilisation du Présent Simple dans la proposition conditionnelle (introduite par if) et l’utilisation du Futur Simple (aspect futur du modal will).
Deuxième Conditionnel (Type II)
1. Most prisoners would try to escape if they saw an opportunity.
2. If she spent all her money, she would have nothing left.
3. I would focus on decreasing poverty if I were the Head of State.
4. If solar power plants were more widely used, their cost would decrease.
5. You wife would worry if you told her you intend to drive all night long.
Explication : pour le Deuxième Conditionnel (Type II) il faut utiliser le Prétérit en anglais dans la proposition conditionnelle (introduite par if) et le Conditionnel Simple (would + base verbale) dans la proposition principale.
Troisième Conditionnel (Type III)
1. If Hitler had won the war, the world would have become a darker place.
2. Sarah would not have fallen if she had noticed the warning sign.
3. If you had accepted their offer at that time, you would have become a millionaire.
4. All of you would have failed the test if you neglected your studies.
5. If we had tasted your delicious food before opening our restaurant, we would have hired you as a chef.
Explication : pour le Troisième Conditionnel (Type III), il faut utiliser le Passé Parfait dans la proposition conditionnelle (introduite par if) et le Conditionnel Passé (would + have + participe passé) dans la proposition principale.
