Exercices corrigés sur les connecteurs logiques en anglais

Les connecteurs logiques et les mots de liaison sont indispensables en anglais pour s’exprimer couramment, avec fluidité et sans ambiguïté, ce qui est d’autant plus important pour se préparer au Toeic, à l’Ielts ou au Toefl par exemple. Exercice 1. Choisissez le connecteur logique ou le mot de liaison adéquat pour chaque phrase à partir de la liste suivante

First, but, even if, as if, however, neither, like, then, because, no matter, since,

1. There was no point in doing that………….nobody cared.
2. I did not go to school………….I did not feel well.

Correction de l’exercice 1

1. There was no point in doing that since nobody cared.
2. I did not go to school because I did not feel well.
3. However hard he may try, he will not convince anybody.
4. No matter what she says, I do not trust her anymore.
5. First we’ll talk about history, then we’ll talk about economics.
6. You have to eat your vegetables even if you don’t like them.
7. You are talking as if you knew everything.
8. He speaks like a scientist. Remarque : « like a scientist » signifie que la personne parle comme un scientifique mais n’est pas un scientifique (ce n’est pas sa profession) alors que « as a scientist » signfie en tant que et implique donc que la personne est un scientifique (c’est son métier). Les noms de profession sont utilisables avec as et like selon le sens de la phrase.
9. My mother went shopping yesterday but she didn’t buy anything.
10. Mary does not like coffee and neither do I.

Exercice 2. Choisissez la bonne proposition de connecteur logique ou de mot de liaison
